Waikoloa Canoe Club Long Distance Race Saturday August 28, 2010  Tui Tonga entered three crews at Waikoloa Canoe Club's LD race.  Every crew placed in their respective divisons.  The mix crew came in 1st (Lacy, Kafoa, Peter, Troy, Candice, and Lainie), the open men's crew came in 2nd in their division and 2nd overall (Chevise, Trey, Eddie, Salesi, Sam, and Ka'eo), and the novice men's crew came in 1st (Willy R., Sean T., Jason, Justin, Willy H., and Benny).  A paddling practice soon followed the race and lunch/music/awards were enjoyed by all! Big Mahalo to Waikoloa for putting on an awesome event!  Keoua Canoe Club Long Distance Race  August 21, 2010 Tui Tonga had an impressive showing at the 23rd Annual Calvin Kelekolio Long Distance Race sponsored by Keoua Canoe Club.  Three crews entered the race, two open men and one open mix.  The open men's crew came in 1st overall and first in their division.  Left to right:  Chevise Conte, Ka'eo Peterson, Kafoa Hala Latu, Sam Amone, Trey Cox, and Lyle Palakiko (not pictured).The second open men's crew was Jerome Slade, Willy Hose, Salesi Apina, Willy Roback, Justin Villines, and Eddie Torres.  The mix crew came in 1st in their division.  The are Lacy Deniz, Lainie Ushiroda, Tessa Cox, Troy Gardner, Peter Ebaniz, and Jason Leau.  2010 HCRA State Championships   Tui Tonga CC at the HCRA State Championships held on Saturday August 7th.   Photos are posted on Facebook, check it out!    Photo from the Past On September 1, 2007, Tui Tonga competed at Kai Opua's 36th Annual Liliuokalani Canoe Race held in Kailua Kona.  The Open men came in first with a time of 1:43.42.  Pictured are (from left to right) Kafoa Hala Latu, Bubba Mahelona, Lyle Palakiko, Calvin Maeda from Steinlager, Kua Nolan, Bruce Ayau, and Mafua Teaupa.
